Who else feels that?
The weight of sadness, sometimes even like a physical heaviness. And you’re all like “HOLD THE FUCK UP…Am I a bloody vegetable garden???!! Cos it feels like someone is shovelling shit on top of me trying to make me grow”.
Except you can’t grow cos you can’t see through the shit. You don’t really know what it’s doing there and you want it to go away.
I will admit it wasn’t until I started coaching that I learned how important it is to honour your feelings. Learn how to name them and then I was given some amazing tools to release them super quickly.
Sadness is given a bad wrap as a ‘negative emotion’ that we need to avoid or get rid of ASAP. Like BBQ sauce on pizza (#minivomit) flaccid willys or an epic jumpsuit cameltoe. A perspective that is so empowering (but took me a long time to get to) is that sadness is neither good nor bad. It just ‘IS’. It’s just another emotion to be acknowledged, learn from, then let go.
